Moon in the Desert Night Sky Color Study (in chalk pastels)

This is my interpretation of "Moon in the Desert Night Sky" paiting originally by Ezra Keats that I found in www.art.com. I fell in love with the soothing hues and had to do a color study. I had fun finding the different shades of blue mixing blues, blacks, purples, grays, oranges and reds. The best thing about chalk pastels is the actual rubbing and blending of colors into the paper. It may be messy, but its addicting.Once you start, its hard to stop!

This is beautiful, Chris! Wow! I just love it.
A couple of days ago I ordered my first set of chalk pastels and after seeing your work I'm even more eager to try them. I know they are messy, but I'll try anything once.
Thank you for sharing. You do lovely work!
